Doing pretty good today. Showing movies in class because it is getting down to the end for me there. And my CT is going to be gone today so I'm just not dealing with trying to do a lab with them. Oh well.

Bought a new laptop last night. Got a Dell XPS with great specs for $949 thanks to the discount my college gets for being a member with dell. Win.

Make sure you give it a proper clean every month or so else it'll go tits up in a year or two.

ewwwww dells are just plain baaaaad (never had one that didnt die--quickly). I'm a toshiba or fujitsu fan myself (have my toshiba from my time in japan--it still works, and bought the fujitsu while I was there--and its running right next to me right now...all the dells are long dead).
but if buying a new computer every other year is your kind of thing--go for it.

My last Dell is still running, I just bought a new one to stay updated with new technology.

Just is a year old and no problems as of yet. I think all computers have some pluses and minus's against them.

Grats on the lappy, tho - we're not big fans of Dell in Tech Corner, due to them being overpriced and over-hyped. Iff'n you get one cheap, on the other hand...

Ya that is the plan. I have had this Dell for 5 years now and haven't had any real substantial problems with it. It did used to freeze up but that was when it was by a window which got down to like 32 degrees F in the winter... So ya, it was under extreme conditions.

Ya, I got the computer cheap and it was better than the HP ones I speced out. I did look at Toshiba and other brands but they weren't customizable and I couldn't find one that had everything I wanted... Thus why I went with the Dell.

oh I agree with the techies on something

all I can say is that all the laptops we have had that have died were dells--all the others are still alive and kicking (including the one we got in 1997!).

well they got the sealcoating done, and now the fun of where to park on a street that you are not allowed to park on between 2am and 7am is happening---the city supposedly knows about it, but I think there will be some tickets out there tomorrow anyways (city needs to get its revenue somehow).....

hope it stays nice, I need to repot some of my indoor plants that have outgrown their pots and need to do it outside since I have no space indoors for that kind of project.

I guess some people have some luck with them otherwise the company wouldnt still be around---from personal experience I would rather NOT have a computer than have a dell--but then again I have built 3 computers in the last few years and could just build something instead (and am in the process of yet another computer building project

I can't build a computer myself sadly, otherwise I would... I have a buddy who could definitely do it but he is in the Chicago area so not exactly accessible to me now. Which sucks.

sometimes it good to be married to a techie (and have some techie friends as well as a sibling who works for microsoft).....

weather was nice enough today to get my plants repotted....though it took a lot longer than we thought it would (and one doesnt look so good

--will be babying him all week)
and I found out I am definitely not as young as I used to be--kneeling for 2+ hours took a good toll on my back and knees....(and a really long nap was had by all participants).

Ya well maybe someday my brother will be able to build his own computer. Of course he wants to be a game designer and not a computer techie per say.

Weather is supposed to be nice this week I believe. Though I'm sure there is some rain in the future.

yeah having a few peeps close to you that can do computer stuff is nice, until the one closest to you thinks that you can do part of the work as well (yes building another plexiglass case for the newest one .....sometime this year---did I mention plexiglass was not a media I am good at?)

ah well.....think its sinus headache week---trying to keep from going to migraine levels (and I ran out of advil---will need to improvise , or yeah, I COULD go to the drug store--but seeing as its hard for me to think clearly enough to type without having to backspace to fix typos...I dont think you want me out driving!)

As i told you before i was planning to go to Spain to work. My friends from Leon told me i was welcome but there could be some problems for taking me in their home. Actually most of them still live with their parents and i didn't feel like entering in someone's else home with his/her parents and their life. Anyway they told me they will find a provvisory solution for a short period.

Today the miracle: a friend from Oviedo, tell me he heard i was coming to Spain and that he got an apartment with 2 free rooms and that he will be glad to share it with me!!!

Finally something moved for my future!!!

...aspirin not doing it.....tomorrow is good enough for me, will be going out to get my hair cut--so will stop by the drug store and pick up some more meds...then I wont care since I plan a very long nap again.

Finally, i now get pills when i get my stomach attacks, it's very strong morphine pills that i need to take, whenever these "attacks" are on.

Was hospitalized again monday through tuesday, and they wanna see how well the pills do before cutting me open, if it gets worse though, they have to remove something from my stomach, but so far, the morphine is awesome :P

Interesting... They don't really prescribe morphine over here anymore due to its addictive nature. Hopefully you won't get addicted to the stuff. But hopefully it does get better but I don't think they should use morphine as a long term fix...
